Pulire 2017: Fimap presents a new product range, offering a new vision of professional cleaning

Technology is transforming the way we live and work. Applying the same process of transformation to the professional cleaning sector can bring significant advantages. Fimap put forward this vision at the most recent edition of Pulire, which has just concluded. The company introduced a new way to understand the product – a new way to see, think about and design it.
This philosophy was unveiled by Fimap on social media as #thisisfimap and is embodied in a new range of scrubbing machines, consisting of the recently released Genie XS, iMx, Mxr and MMg machines and the three new models presented this year: the walk-behind machines Genie XL and Maxima, and the ride-on model Magna. Let's look at the principles that this philosophy has inspired, and which have guided the design of the new line.

Perfecting design to increase the reliability of the machine
The latest-generation models boast an ever more detailed, careful design, aiming for more than just aesthetic perfection. The objective is to improve each individual model and protect it from accidental damage, a common cause of unexpected costs and loss of time. The result is a range of robust machines that are built to last and will keep their value high over time.  Great attention has also been paid to ergonomics. A design that lacks harmony can also feel awkward for users of the machine, while a more harmonious design helps interaction and conveys a sense of confidence and ease-of-use. The more user-friendly a tool is, the better the operator is able to control it, with a subsequent improvement in results.

Investing in design to boost performance and safety
The real strength is actually hidden beneath the carefully designed and harmonious aesthetics. The design incorporates high-quality components and an additional range of safety systems which safeguard the machine, the operator and the environment in which it is used. These include an anti-collision system, an SOS emergency call button and a rear view camera. In addition, every model is equipped with a range of other features which improve performance in its category, such as: lithium batteries, moving side brush, steering wheel controls, water recycling system (FLR), pre-set scrubbing configurations for maximum power when needed (Power Mode), and the ability to save programs specifically for the areas to be cleaned.

Improving the user experience to increase the quality of the cleaning operation
Making the operator's work easier is the first step towards effective cleaning operations. The colour code, for example, uses yellow to identify the parts that require maintenance at the end of the operation: the relevant parts can be viewed at a glance, preventing anything from being forgotten, and with no need for training. In recent years, Fimap has focused on designing increasingly minimalist instrument panels with clean lines, and has ultimately decided to position the controls directly on the steering wheel. The next step was the touch screen display, used to control the entire machine. Through the display, the operator can access the cleaning programs, video tutorials for use and maintenance and the rear view camera, where this is provided. The cleaning programs are activated when needed in the easiest manner possible: the operator simply presses a button in order to limit consumption, eliminate waste, reduce noise or increase the scrubbing power. Aided by devices that provide assistance in any situation, the operator is inspired to carry out the cleaning operation as well as possible.

Focusing on efficiency, with technologies which optimize the use of resources
Fimap is raising efficiency standards once again. The company achieves this through a series of energy-saving technologies such as FES and Start & Stop. The former optimizes overall consumption, while the latter automatically locks all the scrubbing functions during stops, turning them back on when the operator resumes work. Meanwhile, other technologies such as FSS and Eco Mode are designed to reduce water consumption, allowing water to be delivered according to real needs, eliminating waste. Turning on Eco Mode also reduces noise, to carry out silent operations in sensitive environments. For larger models, a detergent solution recycling system called FLR (Fimap Long Range) is now available. FLR increases working autonomy exponentially and saves time since the same load of water and detergent is used to clean more square meters.

Taking advantage of connectivity to increase control and prevent problems
Fimap has launched the My.Machine app, which enables machine owners to connect to their scrubbing machines – or with more than one machine in the case of a fleet – and keep an eye on what matters at all times.
The app can be used to access key information via smartphone at any time, including whether the machine is carrying out the operation normally, its location and state of health. The user receives immediate notification if there is an issue, so action can be taken quickly.
With My.Machine it is possible to constantly monitor operating data, including square meters cleaned, environmental impact and consumption.

Creating a line of accessories to customize models
An additional advantage of the new range is the ability to configure your own scrubbing machine. Thanks to the numerous accessories available, it is possible to choose the most appropriate equipment with maximum freedom and flexibility, essentially making every model unique.
