Here's how Fimap is changing the concept of scrubbing machines: #thisisfimap

#thisisfimap identifies a range of scrubbing machines developed in accordance with a new style of design, where the very concept of a scrubbing machine is deconstructed and each part is reconsidered, in order to find the most suitable solutions to the requirements of today. This is the philosophy behind the new Genie XS, Genie XL, iMx, Maxima and MXL walk-behind machines and the ride-on models BMg, MMg and Magna.

The utility of aesthetics
Can the exterior appearance of a scrubbing machine also serve a purpose in terms of function? Yes, if it can protect it, and thus keep it in working order even in the event of a collision. Yes, if it can make the machine safe for daytime use, even in the presence of people. And finally, yes, if it facilitates the work of the operator.
A rounded design covers all of the mechanical parts of the machine, not only protecting its functions but also lending it a harmonious, non-invasive shape. This also means that cleaning at the end of the day is no longer necessary. The scrubbing machine can easily be used whenever required during the day, since it blends perfectly with the surrounding environment and is not seen as an obstacle by people nearby. On the contrary, it helps to improve the image of any structure, demonstrating professionalism and dedication to keeping floors perfectly clean throughout the day. The operator, who is fully at ease when using the machine, represents a key part of this professionalism. A design that facilitates movement and increases comfort and visibility is essential to completing a job with care and attention.

The role of technology
In addition to the design, the latest machines share a newly-introduced intelligent usage system, iD - intelligent Drive, controlled by a touch screen display. Digitization improves the user experience, as operators do not find themselves having to interact with a new system, but rather with one which behaves like the tools they already use on a daily basis, i.e. smartphones and tablets: this makes the machine truly user-friendly.
This solution also solves two other fundamental problems experienced today. The first is training. As the use of cleaning machines becomes more and more diffuse, the need for them to be able to assist the operator is also growing, as this individual is increasingly not the only one tasked with using the machine, and is not always adequately trained. This is where simple solutions like the colour code come in handy, enabling operators to identify the parts to be cleaned at the end of the operation, along with more complex solutions, made possible thanks to the display: full video tutorials that show how to act in any situation, preventing any possibility of doubt or uncertainty and consequent loss of time.
During the cleaning operation, all the functions can be managed via the display. This allows the operator to adjust water, detergent or pressure, or for an even simpler solution, one of the cleaning programs already set can be selected. These solve the second problem: efficiency.
Having moved on from the concept of the mechanization of cleaning operations, the focus has now shifted to sustainability, the reduction of consumption and costs, the elimination of waste and the improvement of the cleaning result. The ID cleaning programs offer the operator a selection of pre-set adjustments, to achieve the desired result with maximum efficiency: Eco Mode to save resources, Power Mode to clean particularly stubborn localized dirt, and zone programs, which can be customized to meet more specific needs. The technology not only simplifies the use of the classic cleaning functions, it also enables new ones to be added, allowing the cleaning operation to be perfected whilst increasing productivity and reducing costs.

The evolution of safety
The new philosophy has also influenced safety systems, which have become more sophisticated in order to satisfy more complex requirements. Both active safety (which prevents accidents) and passive safety (which assists the operator in case of an emergency) have been enhanced. On ride-on models this translates into assistance for both uphill and downhill gradients, avoiding interruptions or losses of power, along with a rear view camera, which helps the operator when performing manoeuvers in cluttered areas and enables cleaning performance to be monitored at any time without turning around. These machines also feature technologies such as the rear anti-collision system or the automatic corner stability control system. Should an unexpected event occur, the machine can be stopped by pressing the Emergency Stop button, and immediate assistance can be requested using the SOS device. The SOS button sends a request for assistance via SMS, significantly reducing downtime. Moreover, new machines are also equipped with LED headlights, which increase visibility in all environments, so that the machine is easily identifiable when it is in operation.

It's not just a scrubbing machine, it's your scrubbing machine
All of the features that distinguish the new machines can be combined in a variety of versions, to satisfy any requirement. The same model can be supplied with one disc brush or two, with cylindrical brushes for scrubbing-sweeping models or with pads for orbital versions. And then there are the accessories - the conversation is no longer focused on scrubbing machines that can offer greater or lesser versatility, but rather on machines that can be equipped to meet specific needs. This means choosing to equip a specific model with the FFM - Fimap Fleet Management system, the My.Machine app which provides you with all the information you need on your smartphone, the FLR - Fimap Long Range water recycling system, the accessory holder, special wheels, technologies to save resources, and the vacuum wand and spray gun for cleaning the tanks.

#thisisfimap is the response to changes in the world of cleaning. Requirements no longer only differ from one another in terms of the sector of application or the type of flooring to be cleaned. The scrubbing machines in the new range reduce the risk of error: they train and assist the operator and prevent problems, always working in excellent conditions whilst keeping consumption under control at all times. These solutions become tools that enhance efficiency, safety and performance to the maximum, reducing the cost of cleaning.
